01 — About us

We started as 5 friends with a couch. Now we're a movement.

In 2012, a small queer support circle in a living room became We Care LGBT. Today wecarelgbt.com connects LGBTQIA+ people, families and allies to affirming care — from crisis support to career mentoring, from coming-out groups to senior rainbow clubs.

2012 — The Couch Project
Weekly peer circle, 8 people, endless tea. First rule: you belong before you believe.

2017 — Care Center opens
Free counseling, HIV testing, legal clinic and youth shelter referrals under one rainbow roof.

2021 — Digital home wecarelgbt.com
Online chat, virtual groups and resource library for rural and closeted folks worldwide.

2025 — 48k family
120 volunteers, 28 therapists, 15 partner clinics. And still that same couch in the lobby.

Easy trails, chosen family photos, dogs welcome. 40-80 people each time.

Is everything really free and confidential?

Yes. Peer groups, chat, testing and legal first consult are 100% free. We never out anyone. You can use a chosen name and no ID.

I'm not out yet. Can I still come?

Absolutely — 40% of members start anonymously online. Use chat, join with camera off, pay with cash if you visit. Your safety plan comes first.

Do you support parents and allies?

Yes! PFLAG-style parents group every Tuesday, plus ally training for schools and workplaces. Love learns.

How can I volunteer or donate?

Fill the form below — training takes 6 hours, no experience needed. Donations fund binders, shelter beds and therapy slots.

Do you help outside the city?

Yes, our digital hub serves worldwide: video groups, mail support, resource library and referrals in 12 languages.
